summary: This publication presents the Haldane model, used in almost 100% of dive computers via the Bühlmann or RGBM parameter sets (often incorrectly called "model"). After a historical presentation of Haldane's work, it discusses the calculation of the saturation level (half-life, Haldane's equation, Schreiner's equation) and that of the ascent conditions (critical threshold, M-Values, gradient factors). In particular, it demonstrates that the equation of the rise via the critical thresholds is the same as that of Workman's M-Values, which has the advantage of showing two variables instead of one, which makes it all the same. 'interest. By using the Q factor (PrT index), we were also able to measure the incidence of M-Values as a function of the severity of the desaturation. Gradient Factors (GF), a computational trick of decreasing M-Values, are presented next.
