Haldane is sometimes decried, some believing that he certainly laid the foundations of modern desaturation models, but that his approach is now obsolete.
The reality of the calculations reveals a very different reality.
Haldane has created a model that is still solid in its fundamentals, the subsequent developments (US-Navy, MN90, Bühlmann … and even RGBM or VPM) are in fact a simple adaptation of Haldane's model.
Haldane's approach (Pabs=TN2/SVS) is actually not different from that of M-Values (Workman, Bühlmann or others) and GFs do not oppose the logic of Sc, it is just an adaptation. GFs are not a scientific principle, they are a simple math trick to make M-Values variable. This explains why there is no ideal parameterization of GFs. It all depends on the physiology of each and the dive profile.
Understand to better dive, not be fooled by marketing and reduce the risk of ADD in diving.

PROGRAM
- Haldanian models;
- A unified approach to calculations;
- SCs and M-Values;
- The gradient factors (GF);
- Presentation of calculation formulas (saturation/desaturation, M-Values, GF, low GF and high GF).
- Also: download access to an Excel sheet of universal calculations, for educational purposes only, concerning all Haldanian models (Haldane, US-Navy, Bühlmann, MN90, etc.).
